Spark of Love Toy Drive

As the holiday season draws near, Ernst & Haas is proud to once again partner with the Long Beach Fire Department in their annual Spark of Love Toy Drive!

Ernst & Haas participated in the drive for the first time last year, with an abundant amount of donations being received from staff, clients, tenants, and applicants. Our goal this year is to double the amount of donations we received last year in an effort to provide much needed gifts to those in our very own community.

One of the ways we hope to bring in more donations is by offering a promotion to prospective tenants. For those that will be applying for one of Ernst & Haas’ properties between November 26 and December 21, we will waive their application fee in exchange for a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more. However, only one application fee will be waived per party.

If you or someone you know would like to make a donation, please bring it to our office between November 26 and December 21. Donations sought are new, unwrapped toys, sports equipment, clothing, and school supplies for all ages, including teens. Monetary donations, as well as gift cards to multi-selection stores such as Target and Walmart, are also appreciated.

Spark of Love has been a regional toy drive since 1992 and delivers donations to various families and organizations throughout the month of December. For more information, visit www.sparkoflove.org.

Brrrr…It’s Cold In Here…

Beginning this Saturday, the Queen Mary will be hosting CHILL, a holiday-themed event that will feature an Ice Kingdom, ice skating, and tubing until January 6.

The Ice Kingdom will feature 13,000-square-feet of walk-through ice carvings ranging in size from 8-feet to 24-feet tall! The entire exhibit is made up of about 4,500 blocks of ice, weighing a total of 2 million pounds. The exhibit has to be kept at 9 degrees so visitors are each given a special parka to wear.

CHILL will also feature a 6,500 square-foot outdoor ice skating rink and a 100-foot-long elevated tubing slide. A holiday village with themed retail and food and beverages will also be on-site. Additionally, Santa will be in the village to take pictures with children, along with a gingerbread craft area and live entertainment.

The holiday village is free to enter, but there will be individual tickets sold for the Ice Kingdom, ice-skating rink, and tubing. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please visit www.queenmary.com.

A Spooktacular Feast!

Yesterday, Ernst & Haas celebrated Halloween by hosting its annual Halloween Potluck. As in years past, we had a prize for the Most Creative Dish, and as usual, the competition was fierce! Leasing Coordinator Solita Heng narrowly won the competition with her veggie skeleton (pictured below). Check out some of the other dishes we had:
